How to Store Chimichurri (And How Long It Lasts)

22 août 2026Chimmy's Sauce Company

Before opening

CHIMMY'S Chimichurri can be stored at room temperature while unopened.

After opening

Once opened, keep it in the fridge to maintain freshness and flavour, sealed tightly in an airtight container. Because our chimichurri is made with dried herbs rather than fresh, it keeps in the fridge for up to 28 days without losing its flavour — the dried herbs help preserve the sauce and keep the taste consistent. Chimichurris made with fresh herbs, by comparison, tend to spoil more quickly and typically last around 2 weeks in the fridge, with the colour fading as the fresh ingredients deteriorate.

Can chimichurri be frozen?

Yes — chimichurri (and chimichurri butter) can be frozen safely and enjoyed at a later date. If freezing chimichurri butter, roll it into a log using baking paper or cling film and freeze for up to three months, then slice off portions as needed.

Dietary notes

CHIMMY'S Chimichurri is 100% natural, vegan, gluten-free and free from all 14 declared allergens, with no preservatives or additives.
